OBITUARIES John Lafayette Boswell 
    CLEMMONS — John Lafayette Boswell , age 83, of 569 Drumheller Road, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
    A native of Caswell County, he was son of the late Weldon Lafayette  and Rosa Rudd Boswell , and husband of the late Mildred Campbell Boswell  for 41 years prior to his marriage to Eunice Melton Boswell , who survives. Mr. Boswell  was a member of St. John’s  New Mission UCC, retired from Western Electric / AT&T after 40 years of service, was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
    Survivors include his wife, Eunice Melton Boswell  of the home; daughter, Sheila Carmen and husband, Andy, of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Lindsay Carmen, Andrew Carmen and Hannah Carmen, all of Winston-Salem; sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Madren, Mrs. Florence Matkins and Mrs. Frances Gilliam all of Burlington; brothers, Elbridge Boswell  and James Boswell  both of Burlington; stepdaughters, Mrs. Brenda Coggins of Henderson and Mrs. Judy McHan of Matthews. Mr. Boswell  was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred Campbell Boswell ; sister, Nannie Boswell ; and brothers, Aubrey Boswell  and Elton Boswell .
    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2005 at St. John’s  New Mission UCC by the Rev. Mack Painter, pastor. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mr. Boswell  will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home of Vernon and Jean Garrison, 2411 Grand Oaks Blvd., Burlington.
    Memorials may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103 or to St. John’s  New Mission UCC, 1908 S. Mebane St., Burlington, N.C. 27215. 3, John Lafayette Boswell
