Lula Apple Cobb
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Lula Apple Cobb, 92, of 503 South Graham-Hopedale Road, Burlington, died at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Thursday, December 24, 2009, at 5:35 a.m. following several years of failing health and six months critical illness.
A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late William Richard Cobb and the daughter of William Earley Apple and Hattie Payne Apple, both deceased. She retired after 30 years from Dura-Tred Hosiery. She was a member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church in Gibsonville.
Survivors include her son, Larry G. Cobb and wife Delores of Burlington; her grandson, Kevin Cobb and wife Chrissy of Burlington;hergranddaughter, Lori Wade and husband Todd of Mebane; two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Mattie Wade; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Pauline A. Apple, Mildred A. Ingle and Florence Cheek; and five brothers, Elwood Apple, Wilbert Apple, Milton Apple, Elton Apple and Elver Apple.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson
Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. Steve Saunders and the Rev. E. Reid Dickens. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Saturday, December 26, 2009 from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence of the son, Larry Cobb, 510 South Sellars Mill Road, Burlington, N.C.
