Florence Parks King
BURLINGTON — Florence Parks King , 73, of 2629 Churchill Drive, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, September 10, 2007, at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. King was born October 13, 1933, in Alamance County, to the late Roy Alexander Parks and Minnie Sue Miles Parks and she was the wife of the late George Ervin King .
Mrs. King was a member of Lakeview Community Church. She was a volunteer at Alamance County Hospital Auxiliary for many years.
Survivors include her two sons, Terry Lee King and his wife, Sheila, of Charlotte, N.C. and Randall Jay King and his wife, Dee, of Mebane; a granddaughter, Emily Paige King ; two grandsons, Jay Robert King and Russell Jay King ; a sister-in-law, Jean Garrison and her husband, Vernon, of Burlington; a brother-in-law, Billy King and his wife, Mary, of Melbourne, Fla.; an uncle, Elbridge Boswell of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother-in-law, Robert Lee King .
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Reid Dickens. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and at other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance–Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.

George Ervin King
BURLINGTON — George Ervin King , 74, of 2629 Churchhill Drive, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 22, 2007, at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. King was born December 11, 1932, in Alamance County to the late Edgar Lee and Eva Page King . Mr. King retired as general manager from Rental Towel and Uniform Service. He was a member of Lakeview Community Church where he served as a deacon and member of Constitution and Bylaws Committee for two years. He was a member of the Burlington City School Board for 23 years, and was a little league baseball coach for many years. He also was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife Florence Parks King of the home; two sons, Terry Lee King and his wife Shelia of Charlotte, N.C. and Randall Jay King and his wife Dee of Mebane; a granddaughter, Emily Paige King ; two grandsons, Jay Robert King and Russell Jay King ; a sister, Jean Garrison and her husband Vernon of Burlington; a brother, Billy King and his wife Mary of Melbourne, Fla; two aunts, Bertha Phillips and Evelyn Smith; an uncle, Elbridge Boswell; niece, Susan Oakley and several other nieces and nephews; and one greatnephew.
