John Calvin Shaw
Mr. John Calvin Shaw, 81, of Burlington, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Liberty Commons in Burlington.
A native of Guilford County, he is the husband of Helen I. Shaw, who survives, and son of the late Grier Shaw and Pauline Greeson Shaw. Mr. Shaw was a Plant Manager for Burlington Industries, employed with the Alamance-Burlington School System and was an ALCO Official. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, the Friendship United Methodist Men and the Boy Scouts of America.
Surviving, other than his wife, are a daughter, Teresa S. Faucette and husband Reid of Burlington; a son, John Alan Shaw and wife Tracy of Burlington; five grandchildren, Whitney Shaw Blalock and husband Alex, Mary Tessa Faucette Harrill and husband Kamren, Kelsey Kay Shaw, Nolan Ryan Faucette and Evan Alan Shaw; a great grandson, David Hux Blalock; a sister, Ruth Moore of Whitsett; and a brother, Glenn Shaw of Dallas, NC. Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruby Neese, Carleen Neese, Tobie Doby and Barbara Shaw; and two brothers, Jack Shaw and Bill Shaw.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM, Wednesday, September 23, at Friendship United Methodist Church with Rev. Thurman Horney and Rev. Alvin M. Horne officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will greet friends in the Parlor from 1:15 – 2:45 prior to the service and will be available at their residences at other times.
