Mrs. Bessie Lynch Doby
WHITSETT — Mrs. Bessie Lynch Doby, 91, formerly of 1430 Rock Creek Diary Road died Saturday, March 1, 2003 at Twin Lakes Center. She was a native of Stokes County and the daughter of the late Drew William Lynch and the late Martha Martin Lynch. Her husband was the late Rev. Troy Lee Doby,Sr. Mrs. Doby was a homemaker and a Charter Member of Whitsett Baptist Church. She was very active in all areas of the church for many years. She was an avid gardener and loved growing flowers
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. Viola Whitesell and her husband, Gaynor of Gibsonville and Mrs. Louise Capps and her husband, Archie of Graham; sons and daughters-in-law, Troy Doby, Jr. and his wife Linda of Whitsett, Coy Doby and his wife, Brenda of Burlington, Paul Doby and his wife, Joy of Gibsonville and James Doby and his wife, Becky of Liberty; sisters, Miss Lillian L. Doby of Graham, Mrs. Ola L. Gordon and Mrs. Lula L. Stewart both of King, Mrs. Ada L. Rich of Graham and Mrs. Ethel L. Smith of Pinnacle; brother, Fount Lynch of Blues Creek; grandchildren, Ronnie Whitesell, Kendall Whitesell, Brian Doby, Mark Doby, Amy Capps Cloer, Allan Capps, Keith Doby, Shannon Wagoner, Sherry Gregory, Teresa Treadway and Heather Doby; great grandchildren, Alan Whitesell, Lisa Whitesell, Troy Whitesell, Michala Doby, Alexis Doby, Cassidy Cloer, Austin Cloer, Jessica Doby, Adrian Doby, Ashley Pilgrim, Kasey Wagoner, Justin Treadway and Joshua Treadway.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers, Willie, Charlie, Jessie and Albert Lynch.
The funeral services will be held on Monday, March 3, 2003 at 3:00 PM by Rev. Tim Stevens at the First Baptist Church of Whitsett.
The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4-6PM today at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory,Inc. Other times the family will be at the home of the son, Troy Doby, Jr., 548 NC 100 Whitsett,NC.
