Lillie Hughes Teer
MEBANE — Lillie Hughes Teer, 91, of Alamance Health Care Center and a former resident of 702 Wilba Road in Mebane, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Joseph Teer and daughter of John Edd Lee Hughes and Susie Eudora Smith Hughes, both deceased. She was retired from the textile industry as an inspector, and a member of Union Ridge Church.
Survivors include a daughterin-law, Janice Lloyd of Burlington; a grandson, Kevin Lloyd of Burlington; a sister, Florence Hughes Smith of Elon.
Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lynn Teer; a grandson, Jonathan Lloyd; a sister, Fannie Bell Coleman; and brothers, John, Tommy, Ed and Charlie Hughes.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday by Dr. Dan Kuhn, pastor of Elon Community Church. Burial will be in Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3.
