DEATH OF MRS. T. T. SMITH, JR.
-----
An Estimable Young Woman Passes Away After a Brief Illness--Funeral This Afternoon.
After an illness of three weeks, Mrs. T. T. Smith, Jr., died at St. Peter's Hospital shortly after 8 o'clock yesterday morning. Death was the result of typhoid fever and complications. She was carried to the hospital from her home, at 210 South McDowell street, about 10 days ago. It had been known for several days that the condition of Mrs. Smith was critical, but her death, which appears so untimely, was a severe shock to her friends and loved ones.
Mrs. Smith, who, before her marriage, was Miss Bessie Glenn Ramseur, was a native of Lincolnton and was 25 years of age. In addition to her husband and two children, she is survived by a sister and five brothers. The sister is Mrs. Harvey Jetton and the brothers are: Messrs. Fleming, Walter, Allen, Herbert and Carleon Ramseur.
The remains were removed from the hospital to the home of Capt. T. T. Smith, the father-in-law of the deceased, about noon. The funeral will take place at the Second Presbyterian church, of which Mrs. Smith was a member, this afternoon at 5 o'clock. The service will be conducted by Rev. Dr. John W. Stagg, of Birmingham, Ala. The brothers of the deceased and of Mr. T. T. Smith, Jr., will act as pall-bearers. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
