Thomas Jackson “Jack” Edmonds
WHITSETT — Thomas Jackson “Jack” Edmonds, 82, of 2157 Herron Road, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
He was the husband of Hazel Michael Edmonds for 61 years. He was born July 20, 1927 in Surry County to the late Joseph Roscoe and Joanna Elizabeth Snow Edmonds. Jack served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Big Jim’s Appliance and then was the owner-operator of Jack’s Appliance Service for 34 years until his health made it impossible to continue. Jack was a member of Brown Wesleyan Church for over 63 years and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class. He loved to go to Gibsonville to the Around the Green on Saturdays. He was a grandpa to all the other children of the church besides his own grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of the home; daughters, Jackie Faith Kylander and her husband Lonny of Chapel Hill, Tammy Rene Steinert and her husband Jason of Julian, Sandy Gaye Wheeley and her husband Tim of Haw River; grandchildren, Amanda Etchison, Travis and Amy Kylander, T.J. Hill, Danielle Justice, Cody Myrick, Michael Baldwin; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Austyn Etchison, Adiken Flynn, Bryleigh Flynn and Jordan Baldwin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Debra Diana Edmonds.
The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Brown Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Larry Pope and the Rev. Billy Roy. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brown Wesleyan Church and at other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Life Path of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or Brown Wesleyan Church Building Fund in memory of Jack Edmonds, 4355 High Rock Road, Gibsonville, N.C. 27249.

Hazel Michael Edmonds, 91, passed away Monday February 8, 2021 at Parkview Health and Rehabilitation. She was born November 19, 1929 in Guilford County to the late Elza Rankin and Ola Watkins Michael and was married to the late Thomas Jackson “Jack” Edmonds who passed away in 2010. Hazel retired from Engineered Plastics and she was a member of Brown Wesleyan Church now Hope River Church. She taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Making ceramic figures was one of the things she enjoyed along with spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Jackie (Lonny) Kylander, Tammy (Jason) Steinert, Sandy (Tim) Wheeley; sisters, Nancy Roberts and Ava Riley; six grandchildren, seven great grand children and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; daughter, Debra Edmonds; granddaughter, Amy Kylander and seven siblings.
The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Larry Pope. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. You are invited to attend the service using social distancing and masks or view it online at the funeral home’s website. Hazel will be available for viewing 9:00 AM to 1:45 PM Friday at the funeral home.
