Mr. William O. “Bill” Scott
HAW RIVER — Mr. William O. “Bill” Scott, 73, of 4037 Salem Church Road, died at 10:50 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2003, at the Hospice Home after a two-year battle with cancer.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband for 54 years of Mrs. Katherine Shore Scott, who survives, and the son of the late W. Marvin Scott and Eura Allen Scott.
He was retired from General Electric Company and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Men’s Sunday school class and held various offices of the church in the past.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Wanda S. Andrews of Graham and Mrs. Teresa Maniccia and husband, Leo, of Augusta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Mr. Jody Darryl Andrews and wife, Jandy, Mr. Bradley Scott Andrews and wife, Kristi, Miss Lyndsey Anne Maniccia, Mr. Leo Benjamin Maniccia, and Miss Nicole Elizabeth Maniccia; and four great-grandchildren, Zachary, William, Jocelyn, and Jillian Andrews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia S. Pickard; and a beloved son-in-law, Darryl Andrews.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2003 at Salem United Methodist Church by the Rev. Doug Lain. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the residence.
