Keith Barrett Loy
BURLINGTON — Keith Barrett Loy , 86, of 2635 W. Front St., died Sunday, January 15, 2006, at the Hospice Home after an extended illness of five years and critical for two weeks. He was a native of Alamance County, and the son of the late William Ervin and Bettie Ann Westmoreland Loy .
He was a retired farmer, a very generous man who shared what he had with many others and was a mentor to children and their families. He was a Merchant Marine during World War II and a member of the First Baptist Church of Gibsonville.
He is survived by his sisters; Josie Loy Huey and Leola C. Loy , both of Burlington; brothers, W.E. "Bill" Loy Jr. and F. Ervin Loy , both of Elon, D. Leige Loy of Paulsboro, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard Loy , Eugene Loy , Freeman Loy , Martin Leon Loy , and Durward Loy ; sisters, Janice Loy Newman and Ruth Loy .
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Brian Ayers.
Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Elon.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home, and other times at the home.
