Agnes Clapp Belvin
WHITSETT — Agnes Clapp Belvin, 71, of 3527 Old Julian Road, died Wednesday, August 27, 2003, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with diabetes. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late Dallas Herman and Myrtle Maie Clapp.
Agnes was a member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ and the Women’s Guild of the church, Mt. Hope Garden Club, active in the Ladies Auxiliary of Mt. Hope Fire Department and a great supporter of her community.
Survivors include sons, Dallas Belvin and his wife Gloria of Julian, Rickey Belvin and his wife Charlotte of Whitsett, Terry Neal Belvin of Wake Forest; a sister; Millie Loy and her husband Wade of Alamance; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Andrews; and a brother, Dallas Worth Clapp.
The funeral will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 29, 2003 at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ by Rev. Wayne Nelson, Rev. Dale Belvin and Rev. Bill Vinson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6-9 P.M. this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. and at other times at her residence and at the home of Rickey Belvin, 3525 Old Julian Rd., Whitsett.
