Leroy “Maynard” McCann, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 9, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Alamance County to the late Leroy Miles and Clara Esther Odell McCann.
He was married for 38 years to Mary Byrley McCann who survives.
Maynard worked for McLean Trucking, Brown Wooten Mills and C & M Curb Market before retiring.. He was a member of Shiloh Community Church and a member of the Men’s Bible Class. Maynard enjoyed gardening, Blue Grass Music and Playing Santa Claus. He was a loving and devoted husband, Father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Mary B. McCann of the home; daughter, Kelly Madren and husband, Michael; sons, Jeff McCann and wife, Tammy and Clint McCann and wife, Robyn; grandchildren, Emily Maren, Justin Madren, Brandon (Amanda) McCann, Timothy (Emily) McCann, Ryan McCann, Melanie McCann, Megan McCann, Christina McCann, Clara McCann, Jonathan McCann, Ashley (Brent) Rogers, Vicki (Matt) Martin and Maggie (Jonathan) Lineberry; 8 great grandchildren; bother, Jimmie McCann and a sister, Nola McCann Morrison and nieces and nephews .
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Audrey McCann Dickens.
A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Shiloh Community Church by Rev. David Harvin with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory other times at the home.
