Brice Floyd Mahaley
PROSPECT HILL — Brice Floyd Mahaley, 83, of 989 Carver Road, Prospect Hill, died Friday, May 24, 2013, at his residence after several months of failing health.
A native of Rowan County, N.C., he was the husband of Sherby Mahaley, who survives, and the son of James Leroy Mahaley and Susan Walton Mahaley, both deceased. He was a former textile employee and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a hardworking man and especially loved working in his yard. Mr. Mahaley attended Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church in Leasburg.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four sons, Randy Mahaley and wife, Jackie, Lee Mahaley and Patty, Carl Carver, and Tommy Carver and wife, Patty; three daughters, Sharon Mahaley, Shelia Mahaley, and Wanda Mahaley and husband, Wayne; seven grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Anna Bell Boswell. He was predeceased by his first wife, Thelmalene Barker Mahaley; four brothers; and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington with the Rev. Alan Bottoms officiating. A private burial will be held at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday,
May 27, 2013, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington and at other times will be at the residence of the son, Tommy Carver, 981 Carver Road, Prospect Hill.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance/Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like to thank Robin, Kale and Delrethea Corbett, and Janet Hutchins for the special care given to Mr. Mahaley.
