Mae Belle Rudd Wilburn, 95, of Burlington passed away at 6:10 pm on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Hospice Home.
A native of Prospect Hill, she was the wife of the late Lamberth M. Wilburn, Sr. and the daughter of the late Walter Thomas Rudd and the late Padie Hicks Rudd. She was a member of the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and Church Circle #3. She was formerly employed with Burlington Industries and Carolina Biological Supply where she retired. After retirement, she worked part time with Roche Biomedical.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Preece of Burlington, Betty Faulkner and her husband Jerry of Spartanburg, SC and Dottie Wilburn of Burlington; one son, Sonny Wilburn and his wife Virginia of Burlington; one brother, Franklin Rudd of Burlington; nine grandchildren, Eddie Pitts, Mike Pitts, Rodney Pitts, Carl Wilburn, Blair Pippin, Nathan Faulkner, Michele Wong, Chip Friddle and Kelly Bowman; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Kayla Pitts and Lauren Wilburn; one son, Dicky Wilburn; one sister, Lucille Oakley; and two brothers, Eugene Rudd and Berkley Rudd.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by Rev. Bryan Crotts and Rev. Tim Robinson. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the funeral service. At other times the family will also be at the residence her son, Sonny Wilburn. Entombment will take place in the mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park immediately following the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
