OBITUARIES Mrs. Sara Baldwin Wells
ELON — Mrs. Sara Baldwin Wells, 79, of 5618 Baldwin Road, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005, at her residence after two and a half years of failing health, and two weeks critical.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Roland "Sally" Bare, the late Clyde Bowes, and the late Charles A. Wells. She was the daughter of the late Frank Edward Baldwin and Ruth Bowman Baldwin . She was a retired chemist with Carolina Biological Supply and was a member of Keen Street Baptist Church in Danville, Va. She was a volunteer cook and Sunday school teacher for Moffitt Baptist Church in Danville. She was also an avid collector of roses, crocheted, and knitted.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Fay Summers and husband, Glenn, of Elon and Mrs. Sue Bare Bowman and husband, Billy, of Alamance; three sons, William Vernell "Bud" Bare and wife, Kim, of Beaufort, N.C., Roland Frank Bare of Burlington, and Talmadge "Tal" Bare of the home; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Betty Gwendolyn Smith of Burlington; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Shirley Foster of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Ann Crowley.
A private service will be held by the family.
Mrs. Wells would like to express a special thanks to her loving son-in-law and special friend, Glenn, who helped take care of her for over eight years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
