Mary Yarbrough Pruitt
BURLINGTON — Mary Yarbrough Pruitt, 84, of Tarpley Street, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011, at the Hospice Home. She was the wife of the late Winston Pruitt and was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Alamance County to the late Otis and Beulah Andrews Yarbrough.
Mary retired from A.O. Smith after many years of service, and was a charter member of Faith Bible Chapel where she had sung in the choir. She and her husband Winston were members of the Burlington Boat Club. She was known for her love of children and opening her home to them.
She is survived by her sisters, Louise Brown of Mebane and Inez Poole of Burlington; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Mark Robertson. Interment will follow in Cooper Cemetery at Prospect Hill.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the home of a sister, Louise Brown, 607 N. Fifth St., Mebane.
