MEBANE — Louise Yarbrough Brown, 86, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015, at her residence.
She was retired from Western Electric and a member of Faith Bible Chapel. Louise coached women’s softball and coached the cheerleaders for the Redskins Youth Football team. She enjoyed fishing and watching UNC sports and was a member of the Mebane Youth Coaching Association.
She is survived by her children, Pam Brown Dixon and Jeffrey Lynn Brown, both of Mebane; grandchildren, Evan Dixon and Gracelynn Brown; sister, Inez Poole of Burlington; and an uncle, Vernon Andrews of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Elwood Brown; parents, Otis Geti Yarbrough and Beulah Andrews; sister,Mary Pruitt.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the Mc-Clure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark Robertson. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance/Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
