Thomas Bruce Andrews, Jr.

Thomas Bruce Andrews, Jr., on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the age of 92, continued his journey to Eternity.

Bruce was the second born of eleven children and the oldest son of the late Thomas Bruce Andrews and Mary Magdalene Lowe Andrews

Bruce married Betty Crumpton of Blanch, NC.  They were married for 54 years and have two daughters: Cynthia A. Webster and husband, Brad of Leasburg, Melissa A. Wright and husband, Hughie of Casville. Bruce and Betty have three granddaughters, Jennifer Webster Wyatt and husband, Heath of Leasburg, Sarah Wright Rogers and husband, Thomas of Yanceyville, Betsy Wright Ashley and husband, Ty of Winston Salem; one great granddaughter Emmy Jane Rogers of Yanceyville and one on the way; his surviving siblings; Richard Andrews and wife, Nancy of Burlington, Howard Andrews of Burlington; and sister, Edna Hall and husband, Arthur of Burlington; and his beloved dog Miss Britney, AKA “Sweets” of Casville.

Over the years he enjoyed being a pro baseball pitcher in the late 1950’s, coaching little league baseball, gardening, bowling, fishing and hunting, he enjoyed hunting more than the kill.  Andrews built a pond for his wife and they stocked it with brim and bass, but after hand feeding the fish they couldn’t eat them because they became their pets.

After 31 years, Andrews retired from AT&T firm as section Chief of Material Purchasing and Transportation Resources.  He was a veteran with the National Guard, member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church, Caswell Broherhood Lodge #11, Worshipful Master, Caswell County ABC Board, but most of all he took pride, enjoyed, and loved his family above all.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Bethesda Presbyterian Church with Hughie Wright and Gil Strader officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protection Society of Caswell County, 836 County Home Road, Yanceyville, NC 27379 or Authoracare Hospice, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
