 CONCORD — Attrice Compton Lewis, 88, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center Northeast in Concord after a sudden illness.
 
 She was the daughter of the late John Green and Annie Lee Dezern Compton and was married to the late Champ Willard Lewis. She was born in Orange County but spent most of her life living in the Alamance County area. Attrice was a member of First Baptist Church of Graham. She was active in civic and social clubs, was very creative and enjoyed doing artwork and interior decorating. She was also a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who truly valued spending time with her family.
 
 She is survived by her sons, James (Lynette) Lewis of St. Mary’s, Ga. and David (Vickie) Lewis of Rockwell; seven grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren and a sister, Jewel Turner of Burlington.
 
 She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a granddaughter.
 
 The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev.William Jeffcoat with interment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:45 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
