Floyd David Warren
BURLINGTON — Floyd David Warren, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of 57 years to Frances Baulding Warren, who survives.
Floyd retired after many years with Great American Knitting and he was a farmer. He was a member of Long’s Chapel Christian Church where he served as a deacon, trustee, Sunday school superintendent and cemetery keeper. Floyd was a graduate of the 1956 class of Pleasant Grove High School. He was known as “Paw Paw” to his grandchildren and he attended all their sporting events, taking pride in their accomplishments. He was a loving and devoted Christian husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of the home; son, Michael David Warren and wife Cindy of Mebane; daughter, Rose Warren Redd and husband Thomas of Elon; and five grandchildren, Brian Michael Warren, Heather Redd Vereyken and husband Clint, Adam David Warren, Christopher David Redd and Emily Nicole Redd; brother, Clyde Lee “June” Warren Jr. and wife Betty of Burlington; sister, Gladys Warren Pope of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Lee Warren, Sr. and Nina Lea Byrd Warren; sister, Brona Minnie Eastwood; and a brother, Richard Warren.
The Warren family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Cancer Center for all their concern and compassion.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at 2
p.m.at Long’s Chapel Christian Church by the Rev. R.J. Zupancich. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday March 31, 2015, at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home.
