Mrs. Lois Jackson Harder, 92, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 surrounded by her family at Brookshire Nursing Home. Mrs. Harder was born in Orange Co., the daughter of the late Fletcher Erby Jackson and Della L. Garrard.

She was previously employed with Gilmore Florist, Colonial Florist and Belks. Mrs. Harder was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was the organist there for 57 years.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Harder and George Jeffries; her son-in-law, Wayne Lafater; and 4 sisters and 4 brothers.

Mrs. Harder is survived by her daughter, Lynn Lafater Wethington (Al) of Blanch; her sons, Russell Harder (Betty) of Efland and Ronnie Jefferies of Haw River; her brother, Victor Garrard (Jessamine) of Durham; 3 grandchildren, Dan Knowles (Katie), Rusty Harder (Jennifer) and Maggie Harder; and great grandson, Benjamin Knowles.

A funeral service will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church by the Rev. Ernest Ferrell. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
