Irwin Phillip Williams Jr.
HAW RIVER — Irwin Phillip Williams Jr., 82, of 1147 Trollingwood Road, died at 12:52 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at the Hospice Home. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Eunice Maken Williams, who survives, and the son of the late Irwin P. and Lonner Bridges Williams. He was retired from Cone Mills with 37 years of service as personnel manager. He was a Mason and a member of the Haw River Kiwanis Club. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a son, Irwin P. Williams III and wife, Ellyn of Boone, N.C.; two grandchildren, Lauren A. Williams and Jessica P. Williams; and a sister, Elizabeth Williams of Graham.
A private graveside service was conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Alamance Memorial Park by Irwin P. Phillips III, and the Rev. Darrell L. Nance. The family will receive friends at the residence. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Haw River, P.O. Box 370, Haw River, N.C. 27258. McClure Funeral Home in Graham is in charge of arrangements.
