Carlene Loy Hodge


    BURLINGTON — Carlene Loy Hodge, 89, a resident of Coble Health Care, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Alamance County to the late John Raymond and Lennie Hurley Loy and was married to the late Charlie McKenzie Hodge. She was a former employee with Burlington Industries and was a member of St. Mark’s Church where she was also a member of the Adult Sunday School Class.
    She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene “Babs” Drumwright of Burlington, Joan and Eric Stewart of Gibsonville, Bonnie and Ronnie Allen of McLeansville and Renee and Glenn Winters of Morganton; grandchildren, Todd Stewart, Scott Winters, Greg Allen and McKenzie Allen; four greatgrandchildren; and brother, Howard Loy of Burlington.
    She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Eleanor Hopkins and Mary Perrella; and a brother, Ralph Loy.
    The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday
at St. Mark’s Church by the Rev. Bob Disher and the Rev. Ben Bishop with interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home of Joan Stewart, 7005 Deermont Road, Gibsonville.
    The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to the nurses and staff at the Coble Health Care of Twin Lakes for their wonderful care of Mrs. Hodge.
