Julius  Edgar Putnam 
    BURLINGTON — Julius  Edgar Putnam , age 76, of 2935 Cabin Rd., passed away at 11:30 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2005 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
    A native of Alamance County, he was son of the late Cecil Edgar and Myrtle Loy Putnam . He was retired from Burlington City Schools and Alamance Community College, where he taught auto body repair.
    Survivors include daughters, Shelda Donathan of Greensboro and Kathryn P. Paynter and husband Darrell of Greensboro; sons, Bruce E. Putnam  and wife Cynthia of Lake Norman, Brent C. Putnam  and fiancée Alex Gifford of Greensboro and Kevin K. Putnam  and wife Keli of High Point; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brothers, John Putnam  and Elmer Putnam , both of Burlington; sisters, Sylvia Allen of Carthage and Lucille Lafferty of Burlington; and his fiancée and companion, Merita Reed of the home.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. James Moon. Interment will follow in Shallowford United Church of Christ cemetery.
    Mr. Putnam  will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 until 6 this afternoon. 3, Julius Edgar Putnam
