Deloria Ann Frye Parrott
   HAW RIVER — Mrs. Deloria Ann Frye Parrott, 86, formerly of Haw River, died in Idaho Falls, Idaho Monday, May 20, 2013, where she currently resided to be near her daughter and grandchildren.

   A native of Pilot Mountain, N.C., she was the wife of the late James Erskin Parrott, whom she married January 8, 1945, and the daughter of George Thomas Frye Sr. and Ida Lashmint Frye, both deceased.

   Deloria and her husband were owners and operators of Parrott’s Grocery and Grill in Haw River. She was a lifelong member of Lamb’s Chapel, formerly Haw River Christian Church, where she served as a deaconess, was involved in many Bible study groups and taught Sunday School.

   Survivors include her daughter, Robin Parrott Cook and husband Joseph of Idaho Falls, Idaho; three grandchildren, James Craig Cook, Joseph Cody Cook and Joshua Caleb Cook; two sisters, Juanita Wall of Graham and Colene Jester of Burlington; and three brothers, George “Junior” Frye of Burlington, John Frye of Candler, N.C. and Dean Frye of Florida.

   She was preceded in death by four brothers, H. C. Frye, James Frye, Leroy Frye and Sheriff Richard Frye; and sister, Donniece Turney.

   The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 3 p.m. by the Rev. James Rosser, with the family receiving friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service.
