Mrs. Imogene Moser McPherson
GRAHAM — Mrs. Imogene Moser McPherson, 97, of 1819 Shamrock Dr. in Burlington, formerly of Sideview Street in Graham, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003 at her residence after two years of declining health and two weeks of critical health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late John H. McPherson and the daughter of the late Charles Lee Moser and Della Holt Moser. She was co-owner of McPherson’s Grocery in Graham and was retired from the accounts receivable office of Sellars Department Store.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Graham, a member of the Administrative Board, and a Life member of the United Methodist Women. She served as President of the United Methodist Women and Secretary of the Burlington District of United Methodist Women, taught Sunday school since she was thirteen years old, and was a member of the Young-in-Heart Club, a former member of the XYZ Choir, and a member of the American Business Women’s Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ellen McPherson Huffines and husband, Grover, of Burlington; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Betty McPherson of Etowah, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Waldean Moser Taylor of Burlington; five grandchildren, J. Donald McPherson, C. Worth McPherson and wife, Deborah, Rev. Beth McPherson Crissman and husband, Kelly, Steven L. Huffines and wife, Debra, and David H. Huffines; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Clarence McPherson and John Lee McPherson; two brothers, Neuma Holt Moser and Tyson Moser; and a sister, Deece Moser.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Graham by the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Hall, pastor, and Rev. Beth McPherson Crissman, Western United Methodist Conference. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
The family will be at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 6:30 to 8:30 this evening and at other times at the residence.
