Waldean Moser Taylor

BURLINGTON — Waldean Moser Taylor , a resident of The Village at Brookwood, died September 2, 2007, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was 92.
Her husband of 61 years, J.B. Taylor , preceded her in death, as did her parents, Della Holt and Charles Lee Moser  of Snow Camp; her sister, Imogene Moser  McPherson of Graham; and her brother, Neuma Moser  of New Bern, N.C.
She is survived by her son, Jerome Taylor  and his wife, Barbara, of Burlington and her granddaughter, Alison Taylor  of Washington, D.C.
Wally, as she was known, was a native of Snow Camp. She graduated from Sylvan High School and attended Peace College in Raleigh. After marrying, she lived temporarily in Atlantic, N.C. and Beaufort, S.C., while her husband was employed in defense work. Following the war, she returned to Graham and began 30 years of work as a ladies-wear buyer with McAdams Department Store, later moving to her birthplace in Snow Camp to live.
Wally was a member of Rock Creek United Methodist Church and was honored with a Lifetime Membership in the United Methodist Women. She sang in the church choir, belonged to the Della Moser Sunday school class, was active on several church committees, and had served as a church trustee.
The family is very appreciative for the attention that Wally enjoyed from the staff at The Village at Brookwood over the past four years and more recently for the very considerate care she received from the nurses in the Critical Care Unit at ARMC.
The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday. A funeral service will be held at Rock Creek United Methodist Church in Snow Camp at 1 p.m. Friday, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Reverend Jim Folks, pastor of Rock Creek United Methodist Church and the Reverend Beth McPherson Crissman, a grand-niece, will conduct the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Creek United Methodist Church, 7315 Mt. Hermon-Rock Creek Road, Snow Camp, N.C 27349 or to a charity of your choice.
