Jerry Donald Everett Sr.
   MEBANE — Mr. Jerry Donald “Don” Everett Sr. died at 4:52 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at his residence.

   Don loved the Lord, his family, his church, The Lamb’s Chapel, and his community. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to fish, hunt, play golf and do landscaping with his sons. For 38 wonderful years, Don worked for the N.C. Department of Transportation. He began as a mechanic and later became a DOT Equipment Specialist statewide. The DOT was Don’s passion and he considered it an honor to work with and know co-workers throughout the state.

   Survivors include his wife, Lois Everett; sons, Jerry Everett Jr. and wife Vickie, Gary Everett and wife Marie, Kevin Everett and wife Laura and Chad Everett and wife Kim; grandchildren, Dana Everett Page, Bishop Everett, Kelly Everett, Hunter Everett, Trent Everett, Zeta Everett; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Everett and Rett Page; a brother, Lawrence “Frog” Everett and wife Caroline; sisters, Shirley Jones and husband Roger, Nancy Malone and husband Don, Rachel Monk and husband Larry and Charlotte Robertson.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Anderson and Mary Everett; brothers, Doug Everett, Bernard Everett, Houston Everett.

   A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 at The Lamb’s Chapel led by Pastor Brian Biggers.

   The family will receive friends following the service Sunday at the church.

   McClure Funeral Home in Mebane is assisting the family with arrangements.

   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Alamance at 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to The Lamb’s Chapel at 415 Roxboro St., Haw River, N.C. 27258.
