YANCEYVILLE — Mrs. Swannanoa Boswell Oakley, 86, of 900 Cherry Grove Road, died Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at Duke University Medical Center following a one week illness. She was a native of Caswell County and the wife to the late Clyde Scott Oakley and a daughter to the late William Burl and Swannie Walker Boswell. She was a member of Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Oakley of Yanceyville; a son, Jerry Oakley and his wife Ava of Yanceyville; a sister, Mrs. Eva Fitch of Burlington; a brother, Staley Boswell of Yanceyville; grandchildren, Chris Oakley, Angela Talbott, Mickey Wrenn; great-grandchildren, Seth Oakley, Cameron Oakley, Skylar Oakley and Bailey Talbott. She was preceded in death by several sisters and brothers.
The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, September 27, 2003, at Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. Marvin Simpson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the home of the son Jerry Oakley, 832 Cherry Grove Road., Yanceyville, N.C.
