Staley Burl Boswell


    YANCEYVILLE — Staley Burl Boswell, 86, of 248 Staley Boswell Road, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health.
    A native of Caswell County, he was the son of the late William Burl Boswell and the late Swannie Walker Boswell and was married for over 57 years to Mrs. Cornelia McDaniel Boswell, who survives. Mr. Boswell was a full time farmer and he also was employed with Stadler’s Country Hams for over 14 years. He was a member of Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church, where he served as a former deacon and an honorary deacon. Staley was a U.S. Army veteran and served his country during World War II.
    Mr. Boswell is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Michele Boswell of Wake Forest; a son, Ronnie Boswell and his wife, Debbie, of Burlington; a special niece, Betty Weatherford of Yanceyville; along with many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters and two brothers.
    The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2008, at Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. Marvin Simpson and the Rev. Jimmy Nickelston. Mr. Boswell will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service in the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and other times at the home.
    The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff of the Hospice Home for the loving care and attention given to Mr. Boswell.
