Mr. Joe Morris Crabtree Sr.


    GRAHAM — Mr. Joe Morris Crabtree Sr., 86, of 1518 Wedgwood Drive, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at 8:15 a.m. at his residence after one year of failing health.
    He was a civil service employee of AT&T working as an inspector and was retired from the U.S. Navy, serving 21 years.
    Survivors include his sons, Joe Morris Crabtree Jr. and wife, Sue, of Waxhaw, Michael James Crabtree and wife, Peggy, of Graham, Fredrick Lee Crabtree and wife, Anne, of Graham; stepson, Larry Pankey, of Alabama; sister-inlaw, Stella Crabtree; and many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Belle Brown Crabtree; parents, James Alfred Crabtree and Netta Flossie Coble Crabtree; four sisters; and three brothers.
    The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with Dr. Wade Cox officiating. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.
    Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at McClure Funeral Home in Graham, and other times at the residence.
    Memorials may be made to the Hospice organization of the donor’s choice.
