GREENSBORO — Charlie Howard Holyfield, 93, of 2722 Pindals Road died Thursday September 6, 2012 at the Wesley Long Hospital.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 at Alamance Memorial Park with military honors.

A native of Surry County, Mr. Holyfield was former owner of Routh Brothers Construction Company and a WWII Army veteran. He loved to dance by clogging, flat foot and Bluegrass.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are his children Ray Holyfield and his wife Doris, Judy Suits, Larry Holyfield and his wife Pam, Carolyn Isley and Vickie Holyfield; brother Richard Holyfield; sister Mollie Bee Rich, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday and at other times at the residence of Melissa Burroughs, 2722 Pindals Road.
