Mrs. Annie Faye Cook Shepherd

    CHAPEL HILL — Mrs. Annie Faye Cook Shepherd, 86, formerly of Windsor Road, died at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Alamance Health Care Center after five years of failing health, and a critical illness of three weeks.
    A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late James Daniel "J.D." Shepherd, and the daughter of the late Lawrence Lee Cooke and Dolly Russell Cooke. She was retired from UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill and was a member of Bellemont United Methodist Church.
    Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Louise C. Isley and Mrs. Nellie C. Massey, both of Burlington, Mrs. Peggy C. Cauthren of Greensboro, and Mrs. Mary Lois Murray and Mrs. Patty C. Parrish, both of Graham; and two brothers, Mr. Hurley F. Cooke and Mr. R. Lynn Cooke, both of Burlington.
    She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Doris C. Hogan and Mrs. Mattie Belle Stout; and two brothers, Mr. Dwight L. Cook and Mr. Kermit R. Cook.
    The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Larry Janey, and the Rev. R.E.L. Moser. Burial will be in Belmont Baptist Church cemetery.
    The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 4 to 6 this evening, and at other times at the residence of a sister, Mary Lois Murray, 135 Webster Road, Graham, N.C.
