MCLEANSVILLE - MR. ROBERT LYNN COOKE, 88, of Ashton Place Health and Rehabilitation, McLeansville died at Wesley Long Hospital on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 12:48 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Martha Dare Alexander Cooke and the son of Lawrence Lee Cooke and Dolly Russell Cooke, both deceased.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a retired farmer. Lynn was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Nellie C. Massey of Burlington and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by seven sisters, Doris Hogan, Mattie Belle Stout, Annie Shepherd, Peggy Cauthren, Louise Isley, Mary Lois Murray and Patty Parrish and three brothers, Hurley F. Cooke, Dwight L. Cook and Kermit R. Cook.
The funeral service will be conducted at Belmont Baptist Church on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 1 to 2:15 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Other times the family will be at the residence of the sister, Nellie Massey.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ashton Place Health and Rehabilitation and Wesley Long Hospital for the special care extended to Mr. Cooke.
