Esther Rene Ingle King, 95, of Burlington, NC passed away at the Home Place of Burlington on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

A native of Alamance County, NC, she was the wife of the late James Winifrey King and the daughter of the late Prince Ernest Ingle and the late Kate Whitesell Ingle. She retired from the Alamance Burlington School System following 42 years of service. Esther Rene was a member of the Retired School Personnel Club and the American Business Women’s Association. She was a volunteer with the Hospice League of Alamance County and a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Kitty Farmer (Carl & his son Cain & Jessi); two sons, J. W. King (Cindy) and Ernie King (Michelle); five grandchildren, Justin Farmer (Sarah), Ryan King, Nick King (Meredith), Brock King (Kathryn), and Brayden King; and four great grandchildren, Lilly Ann King, Ella Grace King, Grayson Farmer, and Ashton Farmer.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brynna Grace King and son-in-law, Terry Lee Farmer.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Tim Parker with the family receiving friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
