Mrs. Frances Hawkins Jobe dies at 104
    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Frances Hawkins Jobe, of 1987 Hilton Road, formerly of 2538 Bellemont-Alamance Road, died at 9:14 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003 at Alamance Health Care.
    Born in Orange County, she was the wife of the late John Wesley Jobe and the late Curtis Durant Jobe. She was a homemaker and a former member of Glenwood United Methodist Church and the Gospel Chapel in Greensboro.
    Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Florence Coble and her husband, Jim of Burlington; a son, Mr. Auman Jobe of Greensboro; a brother, Mr. William Lyman Hawkins of Abingdon, Va.; seven stepdaughters, Mrs. Juanita Coose and her husband, Horace of Dewitt, Ark., Mrs. Hazel Wisdom of Greensboro, Mrs. Nancy Mahood and her husband, Howard of Boyers, Pa., Mrs. Melba Jobe and her husband, Don of Randleman, Mrs. Ashlyn Landreth of Greensboro, Mrs. Brenda Loftis of Greensboro, and Mrs. Mary Wallace and her husband, Dulan of Rose Hill; two stepsons, Mr. Charles Jobe and his wife, Betty of Greensboro and Mr. Luke Jobe and his wife, Barbara of Greensboro; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 29 stepgrandchildren; 59 stepgreat-grandchildren; and 16 stepgreatgreat-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Thomas Hawkins and Cora Florence Wilson Hawkins; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Fahnrich Bayliff; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Hawkins Ray and Mrs. Gertrude Hawkins Whitesell; a brother, Mr. Charlie Hawkins; and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Mettawee Jobe and Catherine Stewart.
    The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington, by the Rev. Jeff Roberts. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Mortuary in Burlington on Monday afternoon from 1 to 2.
