EDENTON — Carlene Ellington Amick, 80, of 402 River Road, Edenton, died Monday, Nov. 8, at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Hertford, N.C.
She was born in Rockingham County, N.C., the daughter of the late Thelma Crews and Frederick P. Ellington. She was married to the late George S. Amick for 56 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Amick are a daughter, Pamela Joan Amick of Brussels, Belgium; three sons, Craig Amick and his wife Robbin of Clayton, N.C., Mark Amick and his wife René of Morrisville, N.C., and Brett Amick of Edenton, N.C.; a sister,Virginia Frazier of Burlington , N.C.; and a brother, Maynard Ellington and his wife Jeanette of Graham, N.C.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Marion Ellington.
A Celebration of Mrs. Amick’s life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at the Evans Funerals and Cremations Chapel with the Rev.Tom Gregory officiating. Burial will be in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at the funeral home chapel.
