OBITUARIES Mr. Howard Clarence Neese

    MEBANE — Mr. Howard Clarence Neese, 88, of 6915 West Ten Road, died at 1:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 at his residence.

He was born April 19, 1915 in Alamance County. He was the son of the late Walter and Alice Teer Neese.

He was a member of Hawfields Presbyterian Church.

    Mr. Neese was Director of Vocational Trades of Alamance from 1969 until he retired. He was on the Governor’s Council on Development of Disabilities, Ralph Scott Life Services of Alamance County. He was involved in many community activities.

    He is survived by two sons, Pat Neese and wife, Faye, of Mebane and Ronald Hugh Neese of Mebane; and one daughter, Deborah Neese Hawkins of Wilmington. He has six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Slater Neese; and his sisters, Gaynell Hinshaw and Virginia Andrews.

The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock, Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004 at Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Curtis Fussell. Burial will be in Hawfields Presbyterian Church cemetery.

    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham, and at other times the family will be at the residence.

    The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to Hawfields Presbyterian Church, 2115 S. NC 119, Mebane, NC 27302.3, Mr. Howard Clarence Neese
