Otis "Tenney" J.C. Gerringer
WHITSETT — Otis "Tenney" John Calvin Gerringer, 73, of 1608 Rock Creek Dairy Road, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ, 2400 Mt. Hope Church Road, with the Rev. Wayne Smith, and the Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Guilford County, and the son of the late David Leslie Gerringer and Ruth Andrew Gerringer. Mr. Gerringer retired from Shoffner Brothers Industries and was a retired dairy farmer.
He is survived by one son, Calvin Eugene Gerringer and his wife, Sherry, of Whitsett; four daughters, Kathy Barrier of Level Cross, Terri Staley and her husband, Tony, Lorrie Hancock and her husband, Bobby, and Donna Cauthren and her husband, Ricky, all of Whitsett; one brother, Clyde L. Gerringer of Whitsett; two sisters, Lillie Mae Lewis of Greensboro and Doris Walsh and her husband, Homer, of Whitsett; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at Mt Hope United Church of Christ, and at other times at the residence of Ricky and Donna Cauthren, 1700 Rock Creek Dairy Road.
