Calvin was the son of John Calvin Matkins and Mary Jane (Boulden) Matkins, both said to have been born in NC.


MATKINS, CALVIN T.
Funeral services were conducted last Tuesday for Calvin T. Matkins who died Monday at his home in Concord. The services were conducted by the Rev. G. S. Smith of Atwood and burial was in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calvin Matkins was born October 13, 1873 in Casewell county, North Carolina. He professed faith at an early age and united with the Methodist Church. In 1904 he married to Rosa Britton and two children blessed the union, Mrs. Mary Matkins Taylor and Bertha Matkins, both of whom with his wife, survive. He was a kind and faithful father and husband and had a host of friends and relatives to mourn his passing. (Obituary taken from an undated clipping from an unknown Carroll CO, TN Newspaper.)
