Carol Simpson Nichols, 65, of 1929 Belmont Drive, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Annie Penn Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at Berea Christian Church, Altamahaw-Ossipee, Saturday, June 21, 2003 at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Nichols was born in Alamance County, to the late Dr. Henry Hardy Simpson and Nettie Hemphill Simpson. She was retired from the Employment Security Commission of Rockingham County, and was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Simpson.
She is survived by her sons, John “Jay” LeMay Nichols and wife, Katherine Mary, of Lake In The Hill, Ill. and Richard “Rick” Russell Nichols and wife, Rachel Allen, of Hickory, N.C.; grandchildren, Abbey and Austin Nichols of Lake In The Hills, Ill. and Benjamin and Alex Nichols of Hickory; brothers, Henry Simpson Jr. and wife, Doris, William Simpson and wife, Mary, and Richard Simpson and wife, Tandy.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.
