REIDSVILLE - Helen J. Somers Porterfield, 75, of 523 Rice Road died Tuesday, May 23, 1995 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. Gaylord Dix officiating and burial to be in Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
A native of Guilford County, she was retired from the shipping and packing department of Glen Raven Mills and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughters, Doris Lovelace of Reidsville, Edna Smith of Providence, Janie Roberts of Anderson, Carolyn Dove of Ruffin, Betty Bailey of Reidsville, Mary Shaw of Elon College, Nancy Gerringer of Burlington, and Kay Lawrence of Elon College; sister, Grace Owens of Reidsville; 22 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. tonight at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 523 Rice Road in the Cherry Grove Community of Caswell County.147
