Ida Webster Cheek
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Ida Webster Cheek, 98, of East Webb Avenue, Burlington, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 4:10 p.m. at Alamance Health Care Center after a brief illness.
A native of Chatham County, she was the wife of the late John William Cheek and the daughter of James Cary Webster and Lenore Elizabeth Moore Webster, both deceased. She was a member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church and former choir director and organist at East Burlington Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Cheek Denny Bray and husband Tommy of Burlington; two sons, John Richard Cheek and wife Donnie of Graham and Jackie L. “Jack” Cheek and wife Vicky of Snow Camp; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Lee Rudd of Burlington, Helen Moss of Thomasville and Nancy Wrenn of Burlington; and a sister-in-law, Polly Webster.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Brent Cheek and Jerry Boyd and a brother, J. Clyde Webster.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. by Mr. Jack Cheek, her son, with the family receiving friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
