William Henry Oakley  Sr.


    BURLINGTON — William Henry Oakley  Sr., age 93, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 28, 2007 at White Oak Manor. He was a native of Caswell County and the husband of the late Mary Kimbro Oakley . Henry  retired from Payne Oil Company and was a member of Beverly Hills United Church of Christ.
    Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, William  H. Oakley , Jr. and his wife, Sandra of Sunset Beach, NC and Larry Oakley  and his wife, Sharron of Burlington; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister, Pearl Miles of Burlington.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, William  Franklin and Minnie Tate Oakley ; sisters, Mary Bett Nicks and Leona Miles; brother, Johnny Oakley .
    The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Rosser L. Clapp and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on today at the funeral home and other times at the home of Jack and Laurie Gaddy, 2840 Blanche Drive, Burlington, NC.
    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
