BURLINGTON — Kathleen Hart Blalock , age 82, of 1580 Watkins Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Chatham County and the wife of the late Bernice Jackson Blalock .
Kathleen retired from Mc-Adams Business Forms and was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a member of the Caleb Club. Kathleen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother who knitted an afghan for each of her grandchildren. She was known for her generosity and having a servant’s spirit.
Survivors include her son, Ronnie Gray Blalock of Swepsonville; daughters and son-in-law, Kathy Godwin and her husband, the Rev. Joseph Godwin Jr. of Dayton, Ohio and Susan Blalock of the home; grandchildren, Amy Blalock Bishop, Angela Blalock Thornton, Joseph Godwin III and Kristofer Godwin; great-grandchildren, Grayson Bishop, Cora Bishop and Dylan Vurganov; sister and brother-inlaw, Delcie Blalock and her husband, Johnnie of Burlington; brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Toni Hart of N. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Dewey Gray and Lessie Phillips Hart ; and brother, Harold Gray Hart .
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Joseph Godwin Jr. and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
