Lucille Clapp Langston
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Lucille Clapp Langston, 96, passed away at Alamance Health Care on Saturday, April 24, 2010. A native of Caswell County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew David and Ida Squires Oakley. She was a member of Eastlawn Baptist Church of Burlington and a former teacher in the Children’s Sunday School Department. She was a retired textile mill employee.
The funeral service will be conducted by her brother, the Rev. Curtis V. Oakley, at Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Friday, April 30, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m. and followed by burial at Alamance Memorial Park.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Langston was predeceased by husbands Norman Clapp and John J. (Jack) Langston; three sisters and five brothers; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Carroll Craven; and son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Jo Anne Clapp.
Survivors in addition to the Rev. Oakley and wife, Elizabeth, include seven grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren, three greatgreat-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family is especially grateful to granddaughter Lisa Weatherly of Hernando, Miss., friend Anna Moorefield of Burlington, and the Rev. Oakley for their years of love and care for Mrs. Langston.
