Obituary Online notes for Annie ADAMS
Mrs. Anne A. Gillis, 78, died Friday night (March 16, 2012) at her residence following a long illness.

Mrs. Gillis was a native of Douglas, GA but lived most of her life in Waycross. She worked in the Drug Department at Pic-N-Save from the day it opened until it closed and was later a CNA at Baptist Village. She was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She was the daughter of the late Mose Adams and Maybell Worth Adams. She was preceded in death by her first husband Laverne Lee Cardwell, Sr. and her second husband George Gillis.

She was also preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Stephanie Cardwell; four brothers, Yank Adams, John Adams, Henry Adams, and Truman Adams; a sister Lorene "Sweet Thing" Adams; and a half-sister, Florene "Punch" Singleton.

The survivors include a daughter, Joanne Dickinson (husband Eben) of Waycross; two sons, L.L. "Bob" Cardwell (wife Tricia) and Chris Cardwell both of Waycross; three step-children, Larry Gillis of Waycross, Janice Lucas of Waycross, and Cathy Gardner of Waycross; nine grandchildren, Zach Cardwell, Josh Cardwell (wife Summer), Jared Cardwell, Aaron Cardwell (wife Jennifer), Eli Cardwell, Rachel Cardwell, Patrick Lee (wife Zina), Jerry Lee, and Jennifer Swain (husband Bubba); thirteen great-grandchildren, Abigail Cardwell, Hannah Swain, Jeshua Cardwell, Shannon Cardwell, Joslyn Cardwell, Autumn Cardwell, Apryl Cardwell, Darrion Cardwell, Esther Cardwell, Felecity Cardwell, Garreth Cardwell, Holly Lee, and Nathan Swain, a very special friend, Susie Cardwell of Waycross, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (March 20, 2012) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in Kettle Creek Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed signing the online registry at www.musicfuneralhome.com.
