Alice Tate Baker
   BURLINGTON — Alice Tate Baker, 94, formerly of Sellars Mill Road, passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2012 at Alamance Health Care.

   Mrs. Baker was a native of Caswell County and the daughter of Robert Lee Tate and Rosa Ann Terrell Tate, both deceased. She was the wife of the late Byron Otis Baker Sr.

   Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and member of Eastlawn Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn B. Madren and husband Tony of Rural Hall; son, Byron “Bob” Baker Jr. and wife Shirley of Burlington; grandchildren, Brian Madren (Leslie) of Rural Hall, Grant Madren of Winston-Salem, Kristen Baker and Leah Baker, both of Burlington; great-grandchildren, Noah, Jacob, Ethan and Eli Madren; sister, Nellie Durham of Burlington; sister-in-law, Lottie Tate of Burlington.

   Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Stephen Joyner. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Baker will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service.

   The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and at her home at other times.

   Memorials may be made to Eastlawn Baptist Church, 432 N. Sellars Mill Road, Burlington, NC 27217 or to Meals On Wheels; 411 W. Fifth St., Burlington, NC 27215.
