EFFIE TERRELL HAYES
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Effie Terrell Hayes, 87, of 1503 Harriet Dr., Burlington, formerly of Everett St., Burlington, died 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1996, at Greenville Villa Nursing Center, Greenville, after a brief illness.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 1996, at First Baptist Church in Burlington, conducted by Dr. Craig McMahan, pastor of the church.
Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
A native of Caswell Co., she was a daughter of the late William Wesley Terrell and the late Fannie Underwood Terrell.
She was part owner of Midway Variety Store, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington, and a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.O. Hayes.
She is survived by her son, Mr. B. Allen Hayes of Greenville
sisters, Mrs. Blanche Walker, Mrs. Doris Hunter, and Mrs. Fannie
Overman, all of Burlington, Mrs. Eva Webster and Mrs. Cora Mae Lackey, both of Graham; brother, Rev. Isaac Terrell of Thomasville; and two grandsons, Jonathan Eric Hayes of Fayetteville, and Curtis Allen Hayes of Greenville.
The family will be at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, and other times, they will be at the residence of a sister, Mrs. Fannie Overman, 1503 Harriet Dr., Burlington.
The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
