BURLINGTON — Edna Mae UnderwoodMiles,97,of10838 NC Hwy 119 S went home to be with the Lord Friday February 5, 2010 at her home. She was the wife of the lateWilliam Bernard Miles and was born July 2, 1912 in Caswell County to the late James Lee and Hattie Ida Terrell Underwood. Edna was a homemaker and a member of Baynes Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She was a special wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Ward and her husband Leon of Graham; and a son Alton Daniel Miles and his wife Linda of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren Amanda Pickens, James Pickens and his wife Kimberly, Christopher Miles and Andrew Ward; a sister Lessie Davis of Pleasant Garden; sisters-inlaw Avaleen Trollinger and Julia Ann Apple; and dear friend Karen Chandler. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, Martha Simmons, and a brother, Overby Underwood.
The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Baynes Baptist Church by Rev. Scott Williams. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 3-5 PM Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the residence.
